Rene Russo, born in Burbank, California on September 2nd, 1970, to Shirley Balocca a barmaid/factory worker along with Nino Russo. The father of Rene, who was also a technician and sculptor, left the family after Rene reached the age of two. Rene and Toni were then raised by their sole mother. Her father was Italian origin and her mother was of Italian and German-English-Irish origins. Rene suffered from scoliosis during her junior high years and required a full-torso support. Her classmates nicknamed the girl Jolly Green Giant because she was so tall. Although she attended Burroughs High School alongside Ron Howard (a fellow classmate), even with her brace removed, she still felt like an isolated Ranger. Rene dropped out of school at the end of tenth grade because she was not able to handle her academics or engaging with her peers. Then she took on a range different part-time jobs throughout the 18 months, many with no benefits. She worked in a theater as a hostess, where there were no fees for movies. Then she became an owner of a restaurant and was able to get her food for free. Then she was employed at Disneyland in a Disneyland shop as a cashier. She worked two jobs simultaneously. It was her last permanent job, which was only to pay the salary.
