Taylor Swift, full Taylor Alison Swift. American singer/songwriter who's achieved huge popularity with her stories she tells of her young heartbreak. Swift was a fan of music since a young stage of her life. She swiftly rose through in the ranks, beginning as a child actor before performing in front of an audience of thousands. When she was 11 years old, she sang The Star-Spangled Banner before a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. in the next year, she began playing guitar and began to write songs. Swift, who took her influences from the music of Shania Twain and that of her band the Dixie Chicks now known as The Chicks in the world in country music created the original songs she wrote to express the feeling of being alienated. Swift's parents moved her from Pennsylvania to Tennessee at 13 when they decided to sell their Pennsylvania farm. This gave Swift to be more active in courting labels for the country genre in Nashville.
